Our history shows we can advertise your company information.
Truck Stop Events was established in 2005 by Barry Pawelek, a Vietnam veteran who developed a passion for truck driving after experiencing a ride that would save his life in a friend's 1982 Kenworth cabover. As a new over-the-road driver, he noticed that driving calmed his mind down from his PTSD issues. It was the cat engines purr that would save him and could help save other veterans. With a degree in recreation and as a Marine Corps veteran, he saw the unhealthy habits that are prevalent among many drivers in this industry today and he wondered if he could create a program that could provide drivers with valuable information to improve their health. He decided to address this by creating an informational trifold. To fund his program, he would need sponsors to advertise their names on these informational trifolds. This initiative later evolved into the Truck Drivers Health non-profit organization we know today. Your Support is always needed, and it will get your company information in front of the driver faster than any other media outlet can because we hand out thousands per month.
At 80 years old Barry stills believes he can help drivers get healthy. As an over the road heavy haul driver himself he used driving to help with some of the health related problems he faced with the Vietnam war. His love of the industry and his degree in education helped him create the Truck Drivers Health program.
